Humanity is very close to achieving a nearly endless and clean energy source. It is called nuclear fusion. It is different than the nuclear fission reaction that is used in today’s nuclear reactors. Nuclear fission is based on splitting large atoms such as uranium or plutonium, and even though it releases a great amount of energy, it also generates radioactive waste. But nuclear fusion is the way stars generate their energies, and it is based on fusing light atoms such as hydrogen to generate larger ones such as helium. World population keeps increasing. Humanity spreads all over the world just like a cancer, causes other species to go extinct, and changes the face of the earth. It was easy before civilization. And it still is, in the nature. Population increases geometrically (2,4,8,16,…), but food supply, or resources either don’t increase, or they increase arithmetically (1,2,3,4,…). This means more living beings than the resources could support, and the result is the survival of the fittest.
